College Sports Revenue and the Geography of Professional Sports

My partner and I are just about finished with the final project for the data analytics bootcamp I've been working on for the past 24 weeks or so. Our project tries to find whether a the revenue for a college sport is correlated with the distance from a college to the nearest professional team in that sport. Specifically, we looked at baseball and basketball.

For our project, we created a database of relevant information and used Python to examine and perform machine learning modelling of that data. We also produced some graphics depicting some of our findings in Tableau and assembled everything together in a nice webpage hosted on Heroku (which lets you load a postgreSQL database into your project as well). This page also allows you to query our data to find the closest NBA and MLB teams to any of the colleges in our dataset.
